was that due to the fact you didn't need to drink once you left the green machine? I know during my time in the Corps we all drank like fish, then quit for many years after I got out.

Today, I have my two beer limit when I get home from the office.

Not being ashamed to tell the truth, I drank my butt off and liked to fight. However, when I went to college and earned a degree and a commission I thought about all of my friends that got busted for drinking incidents and decided I worked to hard to throw it away.

mission sir.
We all make decissions in life that fits best for each of us. I joined the Corps at 16 because I KNEW it was the right think to do at the time. I look back after all these years and still know I made the right decission..Good for you sir.

Now where's my TWO beers??? Ha ha

When I was 5 I went to the Memorial Day parade and my father took me into the canteen. There I got a glimpse of my first Marine. That day I told him I was joinging the Marines. Never looked back. Now my 11 year old son will start the Young Marines this Sunday. What kind of beer you drink?

with a shot of lime sir.

Funny how we each have our stories about joining the Corps. For me, it was Christmas Eve in an orphanage in Northern California in 1956. Marines took us kids to see Santa.
Been paying them back all these years after giving them (Corps) 6 years of my life and an Honorable Discharge.
Been support our Corps on-line since 1996.
