I've been trying for years now to get some sort of information on my dad Charlie Gore. I don't know a whole lot about his military time as he didn't like to talk about it much. Not because he wasn't proud but I think just really bad memories of being in the Korean War. What I do know and hope is correct is, We believe he went to boot camp at Cherry Point, N.C. around 1951 or 1952. I recently found a photo with a stamp on the back that says camp Pendelton June 23rd 1953.Also, I know one of the photos has a set of numbers on the bottom of it but on the front of the photo. Like a number plaque or something. We do know that he was young when he enlisted because his Uncle had to sign for him. We have different photos of him while he was in the service I will scan one this weekend and get it on here. He didn't meet my Mom until 1958 and he was just finishing up with his service time I believe. I'm doing the family genealogy for our family and would love to put something in files from his military time. If anyone can help I greatly appreciate it.

Updating: I just called Cherry Point and they said they have never had boot camp there. So, I'm not sure where my Uncle got that. I will start checking the PI and CP for graduates listing in 51-52 time frame. Thanks everyone for being patient about my postings. I feel like I'm starting my genealogy hunt all over again.
