Hi, Dont you print the graduates pictures that are in the book any more.

You have PISC Plt 403 17Nov54 picture which isnt really clear. You dont have the book with group pictures.
If you have this book could you make copies of the group pictures.

No we done not print books or pictures we recieve, we scan books unless their sent in already scanned. What you see in the database in each platoon section is all that we've recieved for that platoon. There are however times when we recieve additional pictures and information for platoon's already listed where we add that information as we recieve it.

It should be noted that we have provided copies of platoon sections to those Marines that have lost their platoon information for one reason or another. We do NOT however sell any platoon pictures we have on file, for those that want an original copy of their platoon picture we direct them to the Marine Corps Historical Society in San Diego for those Marines that graduated from San Diego. Parris Island is a different story though, PI only keeps platoon information going back four years.

OK here goes for a shot in the dark , I have lost all my records in a fire in 1981 ( my house ) and I have been trying to put them back together , I have my DD214, and some of my med records , I served a head injury in 1990 and lost some of my memory , That and old age ( 65 ) lol I can not remember my grad, platoon at PI all I know for sure it was in 1961, May or June. Any suggestions on how to find out what platoon I graduated with and maybe some pictures or a Grad. book .

Since you have your DD-214, look on it for an active duty commencement (start) date. That would give you the day you left for boot camp.

In 1961, I believe boot camp was 8 weeks. (Correct me if I'm wrong, my brothers.) Then add 8 weeks to the boot camp start date, you'll have roughly the month and date that you graduated boot camp. From there we can check our database to get and idea of what other platoons would have graduated around the time you did. And it would give us an approximate platoon number to search for.

It would also help if you can remember if your recruit barracks was near the rifle range or the parade deck so we could narrow down the battalion you went through training with.

My father, Charles (Chuck) Dudley, graduated from M.C.R.D. PI on Aug 25-1965 Platoon 335, 3rd Recruit Battalion. I am looking for this yearbook.

I have the graduation photo (scanning it later today and will send it in) and possibly anyone that knew of him or was in his Platoon.

My dad didn't share much information regarding his duties in the Corps, and now that he has passed, I am attempting to find out any and all information I can regarding him and his duty to God, U.S.M.C. and country.

There are many sources of info. They include Ebay for his graduation book (I'm still looking for mine), Amazon (same thing) and others. Also, there are many Marine web sites with forums you might try. One other way I've had success with is entering a name in Google along with dates, Platoon number and any names that may help such as Senior Drill Instructor. Hope this helps. Good luck!
