Rudolph "Rudy" E Woltner, Jr. USMC (ret), 69, Woodbridge, VA

Rudolph "Rudy" E Woltner, Jr., age 69, passed away in his Woodbridge home Dec. 30, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph E. Woltner,Sr. and Hedwig Woltner of Schenectady NY; and his beloved wife of 44 years, Anncena May Woltner. He will be missed by his daughter, Barbara Ivan and herhusband Thomas of Valrico, Fl.; his oldest son, Rudolph E. Woltner, III and his wife Hilda of Woodbridge, Va.; his youngest son, Michael Woltner of Montpelier, Va.; his grandchildren, Thomas Ivan, Rebecca Ivan, and Lyndsay Woltner; his sister, Lois Woltner of Winterville, NC and numerous uncles,aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces. Rudy was born in Schenectady NY and joined the Marine Corps in 1958. While in the military he met the love of life, Anncena, and the two were married in Honolulu in 1960. Rudy toured in Vietnam during the 60s as a photojournalist and upon returning to the states continued to follow his passion for photography. His family moved to Virginia in 1975, where Rudy retired from the Corps in 1980. After his military service, Rudy worked for Pinkerton Investigations before coming to final retirement in the 90s. During his retirement Rudy pursued his hobbies as a gadget junkie and working with computers. He also loved to travel and take cruises with Anne, taking his final cruise in 2004 in remembrance of his wife. Rudy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing, having two hole-in-ones to his credit. Rudy was a lifetime member of the Dale City VFW Post 1503. Family and friends will gather on Monday, January 7, 2008 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge Va 22192. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 1pm at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 5th Marine Division Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1775, Harrison, Arkansas, 72602. To offer condolences please go to www.millerfuneralhome.net
