Pfc Dan Bullock, KIA 6/7/1969 and alone in the world.

http://[/URL]

Below is text I received from the Vietnam Memorial Wall FB page. Pfc. Bullock was alone in the world and thanks to Vets he was eventually given a proper funeral. This obit may be 40+ yrs late but he deserves the space and to be honored and remembered.

This is a photo of Pfc. Dan Bullock, USMC. Today is his birthday but there is no cake, no party, no crowd of friends around him. Dan Bullock doctored the date on his birth certificate and joined the Marines in September of 1968. He arrived in Viet Nam on May 8, 1969 and on June 7th took the place of an injured Marine at the front. During battle he was retrieving ammunition for his fellow Marines and on a second trip Pfc. Bullock was killed by enemy fire. When he came home there was no one at the plane to greet him, no one to claim his body. He was buried in the body bag he came home in, in an unmarked grave. Vets learned of this travesty and ensured the young man received a proper burial and proper headstone. Today he is remembered. His name can be found on The Wall at Panel 23W, Line 096.
Pfc. Dan Bullock was 15 years old.

He wasn't alone when he arrived home, you just couldn't see his brother and sister Marines standing at his side. He can rest in peace knowing he will never be forgotten.

additional link

My Dad made sure I was never afraid to walk alone in cemeteries. Hence I also volunteer for www.Findagrave,com when time permits. I found this link that I thought I would share with everyone. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg...940838&df=all& Find A Grave Memorial# 22940838
