Welcome to Yellow Foot Prints |
 |
 |
|
 |
| Yellow Foot Prints, where the journey began, where the rest of your life will be changed forever.
Yellow Foot Prints is a historical data resource center with information that starts with boot camp, and ends with a Marines final duty station. WHY this web site when there are so many Marine sites on the Internet today? There are many great Marine Corps sites on the net, there are none like Yellow Foot Prints and the content it provides to the Marine Community! This site is about historical information not found within the Marine Corps archives, and certainly not found on the Internet in a searchable database.
Boot Camp Database: - The only database like it on the Internet today! It starts from the late 1930’s continuing through present day graduates, covering both Parris Island and San Diego with listings of location, platoon numbers, recruit names, and rank at graduation where available. When available, graduation books (both borrowed and purchased) are scanned into the database that include Drill Instructor page as well as recruit photos. Also, members can help by submitting their scanned graduation books.
One very unique entry is platoon 2060 that graduated in 1956, this platoon included Lee Harvey Oswald. This section within the database has scanned pictures of the platoon as it trained to be Marines.
Obituaries Database: - The Obituaries database is also searchable, and contains entries that include, but are not limited to Arlington National Cemetery, The Wall, KIA from Iraq that include Desert Storm, Korean War, Viet Nam, and other wars and conflicts. This is an active database that even members can enter information about their loved one’s who have passed, or brother Marines. |

For those Marines, |
| Posted by: [Cpl Miller] on 07-16-2008 @ 05:09 PM |
For those Marines that haven't sent in your boot camp platoon information, now is the time to do so.
The national boot camp database is not only your opportunity to list your boot camp information, but information pertaining to your time in the Corps. Too many of us have lost some, if not all of our individual historical information. Yellow Footprints is one way to store and keep that information from being lost over the years.
The national boot camp database features not only ensures from loss of your historical information, it also allows you to store your own photos of your time in the Corps.
Although this information may not be important to you, it IS important for generations to come that will have an opportunity to view your history. Long after we’re gone, our families will enjoy visiting our photo albums as well as our platoon section.
Our database’s our backed up daily, and weekly to protect your information from loss. We also backup our database’s to CD for long term storage, this is our way in offering you the comfort in knowing your information is safe from loss.
By listing your name in the boot camp database, family members and old Marine brothers will be able to find you and if your email is listed, be able to reach out to you.
It is NOT required that you have boot camp pictures listed in the database, we offer to list your platoon number, no matter what. We are more than happy to list your name under your platoon number where we can add your... |

On-Line PX Stores!! |
| Posted by: [Admin] on 10-27-2007 @ 04:02 AM |
Welcome to the NEW on-line PX Stores
www.yellowfootprintspx.com
Welcome to the new Yellow Footprints on-line PX store. The new PX is full of items every Marine and non-Marine alike would enjoy owning. We’ve tried to fill the PX with clothing and non-clothing items you and your families will like, at prices everyone can afford.
The goal of the store is not one to change this site into a commercial venture, it is however a way to generate funding to support our on-going historical mission.
Like any project, there are overhead costs in running such a mission, and asking for donations is not the only way to gain those funds.
So with that said, please stop in, look around, and remember one thing, YOU do NOT have to be a member to use this site or visit our PX……ENJOY
Carry On Marines!!

VA Announces On-Line Claims Applications
July 16, 2008
WASHINGTON – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced today that on-line applications are now accepted from veterans, survivors and other claimants filing initial applications for disability compensation, pension, education, and vocational rehabilitation and employment benefits without the additional requirement to submit a signed paper copy of the application.
Effective immediately, VA will now process applications received through its on-line application website (VONAPP) without the claimant's signature. The electronic application will be sufficient authentication of the claimant’s application for benefits. Normal development procedures and rules of evidence will still apply to all VONAPP applications.
VONAPP (www.va.gov/onlineapps.htm) is a Web-based system that benefits both internal and external users. Veterans, survivors and other claimants seeking compensation, pension, education, or vocational rehabilitation benefits can apply electronically without the constraints of location, postage cost, and time delays in mail delivery.
VONAPP reduces the number of incomplete applications received by VA, decreasing the need for additional development by VA claims processors. The on-line application also provides a link to apply for VA health care benefits and much more.
Over 3.7 million veterans and beneficiaries receive compensation and pension benefits from VA and... |
